Comic Artist!

I just did a week long class learning comic art and cartooning with Matt Maley, who is a really great comic artist who used to work at Marvel! This was the cover I made for my comic, Flash B and Speed Rume!

This shows the different stages (below). First, the sketch, then the 'inking in,' and finally adding color with markers and colored pencils.



Jojo did the class too. This is her comic.

It's a Dog Life at Esalen

Rume went to Esalen in Big Sur, California. She enjoyed massages, hot tubs, great food, and the power of now!

More Presidential Adventures

We went to see the portraits of the presidents at the National Portrait Gallery. Then onto a tour of the Capitol...

DC and Benny the President

I've been reading Mike Venezia's funny and great books about the presidents (we are up to the fifteenth president, James Buchanan). It's fun to be in DC and see the places the presidents lived and worked.

Art Studies Continued in Washington DC

We went to the National Gallery in DC. I saw the only Da Vinci outside of Europe!

We went to the MOMA and I got to see my favorite Andy Warhol paintings.

Me, Obama, and The Great Wall of China

We are now learning about ancient China. Yesterday, I built a Great Wall with my blocks.

This book was really interesting.Yesterday, while I built my wall, Obama went to the real one!

Ancient India Studies

We are learning about Ancient India and the Hindu Gods. Jojo and me made Ganeshes. Guess which is mine? They will go on the shelf with our models of the Greek Gods.

We read the story of Ramayana. Then we saw this movie called Sita Sings the Blues. Jojo made a clay Sita (but sometimes her arms fall off!)
